Insulin-Like Growth Factors (IGFs): IGFs are the most abundant and best characterized growth factors present in colostrum.  IGFs enhance cellular glucose uptake, and the synthesis of protein and glycogen.  These growth factors also promote cellular division and differentiation and have been shown to be an important pathway by which growth hormone exerts its metabolic and growth promoting affects. IGFs may be beneficial in combating some of the metabolic effects of aging.

Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF): EGF promotes growth and differentiation of skin and gastrointestinal tract, and other mucosal surfaces.  This aids in healing and maintaining healthy skin.
